Rennes University Hospital
Nearly half a million patients are treated at Rennes University Hospital each year. Every day, its staff saves lives of hundreds of patients. Researchers there discover new ways to detect and treat disease. Healthcare professionals learn the skills they’ll need for the future.
As a flagship facility of the Haute-Bretagne Hospital Group and ranked among the top 9 public healthcare institutions nationwide for quality of care, the Rennes University Hospital offers a total of 1,657 inpatient beds and 248 beds.
A call for tender was issued to modernize video surveillance at the Rennes University Hospital, and the selected video protection software solution is CamTrace Nova 15 from Camtrace. In 2024, Rennes University Hospital updated the CamTrace VMS to SIRION 16.
The Rennes University Hospital opted for a virtualized installation: 400 cameras are managed by CamTrace, distributed across multiple virtual machines. The CamTrace solution enabled the integration of a heterogeneous fleet of cameras (IP cameras, analog cameras, and encoders) to provide unified operation on video walls and operator stations.
Staff (operators and security personnel) were trained by a CamTrace representative during an in-person training session to ensure the effective and optimal operation of the video surveillance system.
